Beautifully engraved unissued Certificate from the Antox Company incorporated in 1968. This historic document was printed by the Federated Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle on a perch. This item has the printed signature of the company's president, Hal. B. H. Cooper, and is over 44 years old. Antox is an antioxidant which is used to fight certain diseases. The company changed its name to Chemanox Inc. in 1972. The company founders were Drs. Hal. B. H. Cooper and Herbert (Bert) W. Spencer III. The founders have extensive business experience with industrial chemical and air pollution control technologies. Additional design experience is brought to the company by staff members with extensive experience with the design and engineering of large utility and chemical processing plants. Hal B. H. During the past twenty years he has mostly been involved in technology concerned with air pollution control, electrochemistry, and the coating of substrates with nickel, gold and other precious metals by the electroless plating method. He was the inventor of a process which received one of the prestigious R&D-100 Awards by Research & Development magazine and holds over 20 patents. His earlier experience was in the chemical processing and consumer products industries during which time he was associated with: American Cyanamid Company. Organic Chemicals Division. He has an extensive knowledge of and experience with power plants. Accomplishments include successful direction of projects for the Environmental Protection Agency, Electric Power Research Institute and for Joy Manufacturing. While employed at Joy, Dr. Spencer's accomplishments include direction of the successful demonstration of the Joy/Niro dry FGD system, direction of the successful development of a long bag pulsejet baghouse, direction of the development of a microcomputer based precipitator control system, and managing an effective research and development department. Dr. Spencer has established with Dr.Cooper EC&C Technologies to commercialize advanced processes for control of air pollution emissions. Present focus is on NOx controls for utility and incinerator applications. Dr. Spencer also has his own consulting firm HWS Engineering and Research Company that provides engineering, marketing, and consulting and planning services in the air pollution control field.
