On August 15, 2001, Covad Communications Group, Inc. (OTCBB: COVD), the parent company of Covad Communications Company, announced that it has filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Federal bankruptcy code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, as part of a voluntary, pre-negotiated plan to eliminate Covad's $1.4 billion in debt.
