 | | | Hotel Governor Clinton, Inc. ( Now Southgate Tower ) - New York 1928 | Beautifully engraved Gold Bond Certificate from the Hotel Governor Clinton, Inc. issued in 1928. This historic document was printed by Franklin-Lee Division and has an
ornate border around it with a vignette of eagle standing on a rock. This item is hand signed by the Company's President ( Maurice Cantor ) and Assistant Secretary and is over 76 years old. This is the first time we have had this for sale.

Hotel Governor Clinton. Named after DeWitt Clinton, not Bill Clinton. It was built in 1929, and unlike the Classical style of the station (and the Hotel Pennsylvania) it was given an Italian Renaissance style. In 1929, it was New York's Newest and Finest OPPOSITE PENNSYLVANIA STATION (Seventh Avenue & 31st Street) with 1200 Rooms It offered rooms all outside views with a Private Bath, Radio Servidor and Circulating Ice Water.
