in 1911. This historic document was printed by the International Banknote Company and has an
ornate border around it with a vignette of an allegorical woman pointing to the comp[anys's name. This item is hand signed by the Company's officers and is over 92 years old.
Certificate Vignette
The Lake Superior Iron and Chemical Company was the predessor company to the Charcoal Iron Company of America. The company manufactured pig iron, acetone and acetate, and alcohol. The plants were located in Boyne City, Chocolay, Elk Rapids, Manistique and Newberry, Michigan; and Ashland, Wisconsin.
