NEC was at the forefront of the computer revolution when the late Koji Kobayashi, then chairman of NEC, first advocated the integration of computers and communications in 1977 when he coined the phrase "C&C". Since then, by providing a balanced combination of three major operations - computers, communications, and electron devices, they have the technical and corporate expertise to lead in the continuing development and integration of state of the art products in each of the three areas.
