Beautifully engraved certificate from the Whitmer-Parsons Pulpand Lumber Company issued in 1923. This historic document was printed by the American Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle. This item is hand signed by the Company's President(A. J. Stevens) and Secretary and is over 95 years old. The company went belly up in 1930 as a result of the depression.

The Whitmer-Parsons Pulp and Lumber Company was organizied to take over all of the properties belonging to William Whitmer and sons, and Parsons Pulp and Lumber Company. The properties were located in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. The company's facilities had the annual capacity of 40,000,000 to 54,000,000 feet of timber and 12,000 tons of bleached pulp.
