Tappan Engravers and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of the Society's Seal. This item has the signatures of the Company's President and Co Founder, Samuel G. The New England Historic Genealogical Society, founded in 1845, and is the country's oldest genealogical organization. The five charter members were (Charles Ewer, Lemuel Shattuck, Samuel G. Drake, John Wingate Thornton, and William H. Montague).
